Good to know. Hashing is one way, you cannot turn a hash back into the original text. MD5 and SHA-1 are fine for checksums and learning, but they are not collision resistant, so do not rely on them for passwords or security critical integrity. Use SHA-256 or stronger for that, and a dedicated password hash like bcrypt for storing passwords.
